Grace's Piggy-Tails

Gracie's hair is now long enough to do up! She loves having her hair combed, and a couple of days ago I thought I'd try putting it up. I put it in pig tails and she looked Gorgeous! Now she regularly wants her hair done. She comes and asks to be picked up, then she points to the comb so I comb her hair, she points to my hairties drawer so I put hairties in her hair, she points to the mirror so I lift her to be able to see herself, - now comes the surprising part - she points to the door and keeps pointing and pointing and talking gibberish until I take her to show off her hair to some more people!

On the 8th of August, some 40 ladies gathered together to enjoy a Princess Parlour Party! During the evening we were privileged to hear from some Above Rubies speakers on the following topics:

We were sitting around beautifully laid tea tables, dressed mostly like princesses, sipping tea, listening to edifying and encouraging talks, and enjoying fellowship.
A big thankyou to those who helped make this evening happen!

English Country Dance 2006

Last Year's English Country Dance was thoroughly enjoyed by all, so on the 5th of May we had another one!
When the dancing was at its peak, the hall was pretty crowded with close to 90 people dancing or watching!
However, there were rather more ladies than gentlemen. This meant that not all the ladies could be up at once while the gents were dancing almost every dance!
What a great evening!

The French Country Fair

On the first of April we took a van and a car full of young ladies (plus Dad and Jedediah) to the French Country Fair near Featherstone. (see www.frenchcountryfair.netfirms.com) Most of us were dressed as though we were from the french court during the 1800's or other time periods, and we all felt very grand. We had a wonderful day of strolling along, looking, touching, tasting and buying. The younger ones even went on a ride or two.
We can hardly wait to go to next years fair!

Grinning Grace

We first put Gracie in her highchair during dinner the other day, I think she knew this was a step towards growing up! she sat there grinning and giggling for ages before we even thought to get out the camera, and she would stare around, grab for stuff and do this funny little laughing intake of breath. She was certainly enjoying herself!

Grace Ariana and the Chickens

The other day when Jerry brought in the little chicks while Grace was lying in the conservatory, he put them down around her and she went wild! she was spinning around to get to them, blowing bubbles at them, trying real hard to crawl and even shouting at them as they darted past her or stood and stared at her. One chick even hopped onto her back on it's way past! She loves watching them and whenever she gets close enough she tries to grab them. It's the cutest thing to watch!

English Country Dancing in Palmerston North
On the 30 of December 2005, about 45 people gathered at Harmony House in Palmerston North to join us in an English Country Dance The idea for this was inspired by some neat folks in San Antonio Texas, the Hubers who kindly let us attend their dance last November. We all had a great time and ended the evening with smiles and sore feet. The evening was so succesful I hope to make this a somewhat regular event!

I think there was a good turnout for our first dance!
